National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, while encouraging a sense of community and providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together.Ĭitizens, law enforcement agencies, community groups, businesses, youth organizations and local, state, and federal officials from over 16,500 communities from all 50 states, US territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide will join forces to mark this year’s 35th National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that started in 1984 and promotes police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie striving to make our neighborhoods a safer and better place in which to live.
The evening activities are being sponsored by Hardenbergh Insurance Group, Investors Bank, Elfman Orthodontics, Virtua, TD Bank, DiMeglio Construction, Republic Bank and South Jersey Radiology. The June 24 event, honoring the many donors who helped make the new facility possible, was part of AWA’s two-day grand opening celebration. Animal Welfare Association (AWA), the oldest and largest low-cost spay/neuter clinic, adoption center and no-kill animal shelter in South Jersey, cuts the ribbon to officially open its brand new, state-of-the-art adoption and education center located at 509 Centennial Boulevard in Voorhees.
